  • What steel materials are used in your structures?
    Our steel components include: 2" galvanized 15-gauge square tubing. 1 5/8" galvanized 16-gauge round tube. 1 3/8" galvanized 16-gauge round tube. 2"x3" x 3/16" thick skid steel. 9,000lb Welded D-rings on skids for moving loafing and in-line barns.
  • What type of lumber do you use for your structures?
    We use high-quality lumber to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. Our lumber includes: 2"x6" tongue and groove knotty pine #2 or better. 2"x10" Douglas fir rough-sawn #2 or better. 1"x12" board and bat knotty pine #2 or better. Our lumber is delivered without stain or sealant. Stain or sealant is available at an additional cost, with oil-based stains offering UV protection based on the color.
  • What hardware is included in the structures?
    Our structures feature: • 5" J-Hooks for sliding stall front doors and paddock Dutch doors. • Spring-loaded hinges with a catch for Dutch doors on stall fronts and paddock doors. • Barrel bolts and catches for feed doors.
  • What type of roofing is used?
    We use 29-gauge metal roofing as a standard. Custom gauge metal roofing is available upon request.
  • What form of payments are accepted?
    Cash or check is preferred. We offer stripe and direct payment from all major credit cards, including Amex. There is a 3% charge for online credit card purchases.
  • When is the final payment due?
    The full balance of each shelter is due before scheduling delivery. Please remit payment within (30) days to avoid storage fees. Alternative arrangements must be made with Selkirk Stall Systems in writing.
  • What financing options are available?
    Affirm is available for financing on all Selkirk Stall Systems products.
  • What is the down payment requirement?
    A 50% down payment is needed to start manufacturing and assembly.
  • What happens if a payment is returned or denied?
    A $100 fee will be added to the remaining balance if a payment is returned.
  • How does production time work for Selkirk Stall Systems products?
    All Selkirk Stall Systems products are made to order. Lead times are subject to change based on the current production load. While our team works diligently to ensure timely production, factors such as supply-chain interruptions, engineering reviews, permit approvals, and material delays may extend wait times beyond our control.
  • What are the responsibilities regarding permits?
    Purchasers are responsible for obtaining building permits. Selkirk Stall Systems offers engineered building plans for an additional fee. It is essential to comply with local regulations, and customers are advised to contact sales staff for specific requirements.
  • Who is responsible for ground preparation?
    Selkirk Stall Systems is not responsible for ground prep and is not liable for damages due to ground conditions. Ground preparation is the purchaser's responsibility, and uneven site conditions may impact installation.
  • What is the maximum time allotted for shelter placement?
    Deliveries are scheduled for a maximum of one hour. If shelter placement takes longer due to purchaser actions, an additional $100/hour charge applies after the first hour. The driver will communicate any charges for longer placement times before completion.
  • How are overhangs handled during delivery?
    Overhangs arrive unassembled and must be assembled into the final position on-site by a Selkirk Stall System team member.
  • What should customers know about the delivery of Loafing Sheds and In-Line barns?
    Weather conditions may impact delivery times. Customers are responsible for exact placement, with a one-hour allotted time for drop-off. Additional time will be billed at $100.00 per hour.
  • How is the placement of shelters handled?
    While drivers aim to place shelters in the customer's specified location, it's not guaranteed. If a driver cannot safely reach the desired location, the purchaser may opt to move the shelter using personal equipment.
  • How is the delivery process managed?
    Our drivers deliver all Selkirk products. Delivery scheduling is subject to the driver’s schedule, current weather, road conditions, and road restrictions. Winter deliveries may experience delays due to pass closures and unsafe hauling conditions. Delivery fees are based on the address provided at checkout, but additional fees may apply based on location, which is reviewed before finalizing the order. A Selkirk Team member will call 3-7 days ahead to schedule the location and time of delivery. Lead times may vary based on weather conditions. Typically, orders are delivered within 4-5 weeks from order to delivery, with an additional two weeks for powder coat delivery.
  • Who is responsible for anchoring products?
    Selkirk Stall Systems is not responsible for anchoring products. Anchoring is recommended, and customers should follow exact manufacturer specifications for installation. Selkirk Stall Systems is not liable for damages resulting from failed anchors or improper installation.
  • How does long-term storage work?
    Notify Selkirk Stall Systems of any issues or delays within (5) business days of order placement. If delivery is delayed at the customer's request, additional storage fees may apply at $10/day per shelter.
  • What warranty is offered on Selkirk Stall Systems products?
    Selkirk Stall Systems offers a 3-year non-transferable warranty on frames. This warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials related to welds and steel frame components only. Warranty Details: Warranty Coverage: 3-year warranty on welds and steel frames. Exclusions: Roof materials, wood siding, and fasteners are not included. Activation: The warranty starts after the 7-day grace period guarantee. Refunds and Returns: Refunds and returns are not accepted. Service Zones: Home Zone (Within 150 Miles) and Outside the Home Zone (Beyond 150 Miles). Customer Responsibility: Promptly notify Selkirk Stall Systems of defects or issues the warranty covers.
  • What is the policy on returns and refunds?
    Orders can be canceled at no charge if production has yet to start. Once production begins, a cancellation fee applies. Returns are not accepted after delivery.
